Our team of root canal specialists has re-treated many patients whose root canals have failed or improperly performed previously.
Our doctors are available to evaluate previous endodontic treatment and provide a second opinion about your care. Our lead specialist, Dr. Hedrick one of the few endodontists in the area that is certified by the American Board of Endodontists and has performed thousands of successful procedures over his career. Our team of experienced specialists can diagnose and treat difficult cases that other dentists may not have the knowledge or training to recognize.
If you think you might be a candidate for root canal re-treatments, you will need to come in for an evaluation at our St. Petersburg, FL, office. Our endodontist will use our advanced technology to evaluate the tooth and if treatment is required, will ensure your total comfort with the use of our advanced sedation options.
High-powered microscopes are used throughout your entire procedure, which allows our endodontists to manage the fine details necessary to ensure positive long-term results. Restorative materials used in the previous root canal procedure may be removed so the doctor can examine the inside of the tooth using a microscope and search for any issues in the root canals. Once the area has been cleaned and disinfected using our advanced EndoVac™ irrigation technology, the doctor will fill the root canals with new materials to seal the tooth. Once the re-treatment is done, the restoration process is completed by the restorative dentist.
